Overview
The local Chapter for NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) was established by AIBM in 2023, a project initiated and funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NPTEL is a joint initiative between IITs, IIMs, and IISc to offer online courses and certification in humanities, basic sciences, computer science, and management.
This allows students to join the NPTEL Courses and the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from Institutions of National Importance such as IIT’s, IIM’s. The main objective of the Local Chapter is to provide wider dissemination of the NPTEL initiatives and integrate MOOCs into mainstream education. The Local Chapter acts as an extended arm of NPTEL. Students are encouraged to enroll in the courses provided in the SWAYAM platform under the college’s local chapter.

The students and staff should do NPTEL online certification courses for the following reasons:
- Gives the students the opportunities to explore new areas of interest – which are not possible in a regular college environment.
- Faculty can use these for career progression.
- These courses also bring out the self-learning initiative of the students – where their motivation drives them to complete the course and not external compulsions. This fosters the habit of keeping oneself updated always using self-study.
- The certificates issued bear the stamp of the institute offering the course and hence are valuable additions when the students apply for jobs.
- Companies can also recruit from this pool of candidates with specialized skills.

- Choose the course you want to enroll in.
- All registrants have to use their email ID while filling out their profile.
- While filling out the Profile, tick ‘Yes ‘ in whether are you a part of an NPTEL local chapter and choose our College name correctly from the drop-down menu.
